        Oberstleutnant Ritter von Eimannsberger

        Stijn,

the last rank list or "Schematismus" of the Austro-Hungarian army was published in about May 1918. That edition showed the then Oberstleutnant (1 May 17) of the artillery staff Ludwig Ritter von Eimannsberger with the following decorations:

Knight's Cross of the Order of Leopold with war decoration and swords
Order of the Iron Crown 3rd Class with war decoration and swords
Military Merit Cross third class with war decoration and swords
Silver Military Merit Medal (Signum Laudis)
Bronze Military Merit Medal (Signum Laudis)
        Military Jubilee Cross

He was awarded the MVK.3 and his bronze Signum Laudis in 1915 and had also received the silver Signum Laudis by the time of the publication of the 1916 Schematismus. The A-H rank lists did not show foreign decorations.

Who ruined that great photo with the ecrap blob

        Regards
        Glenn

          Austrian general

          Hello,

Thanks Glenn thats great info => any idea on his enitre carreer ( regarding promotions, etc... ? ), he must have been quite a brave officer to receive some of the nice enamelwork from the Austro - Hungarian high command.

Is there a possiblity in researching his exact deeds ? ( in archives or similar ? ) as I really woukd love to find out more => this way a first anonymous portrait pictures reveals history .

Another thing I noticed is that the Imperial EK 2 is placed first before the Austrian awards ? ( one would expect that it was placed after the own country's awards ? ), was this a common practice in the WWII german Third Reich ? Did he do something during WWII ? ( new asignements , etc ... )

I obtained this portrait just from ecrap ( that explains the ugly blob ) => so keep the info comming but I love the splendid look from this medal bar ( altough Iff we would see his little ribbon bar it sould once again be such a strange looking combo with much to much the same ribbons, etc ... )

          Cordial Greetings,

The Iron Cross is in the correct position for a Wehrmacht bar taking precedence over former Austro-Hungarian awards.

                Austrian general

                Hello,

Thanks for the info so far => now all I need is the adress from the appropriate Austrian archives ( hint hint => glenn ) where I can ask for his so called " Belohnungsantrage " and iff these guys are able to help me we will soon have this mans wartime Bio. with all his deeds, etc .... mayby even worth a little update , etc .... in some magazine

No need to worry that I will convert from the dark side towards the new light at the end off the Tunnel, Im just to hooked about that small pocket called " Cholm " somwhere 1942 and the Glider pilots, Im just one of those guys who belong to the dark side and who suck up as much info as possible to become stronger ( damn I have been looking to much Star Wars I guess )
