Can someone help with the identification of information from the front of field, instructional, or technical manuals? Specifically the letters and abbreviations often seen in the upper left corner of the booklet's cover. Such as:
H. Dv.
M. Dv.
L. Dv
These are then followed by a number which I assume is the identification number for the manual. Sometimes there will also be a notation for the number such M. Dv. Nr. 123.
I have assumed that the following: H - Heer; L - Luftwaffe; M - Marine. Followed by different numbers for the respective branches of service. Is this assumption correct?
I am also curious of the following abbreviations noted on manuals:
D.
G. Dv.
Any information would be much appreciated - Lance O. Adams ....
