Now, photo of an experimental piece is attached; who can tell us about this weapon?

Looks like a recoilless gun of some sort. Very similar to those from the post-war years

Jim, great sequence and I happen to have the same series that came with the 4 photo albums of Obstlt.(E) R. Frisch, Festungs-Pionier-Stab 27.

The photo comes from a file of an author and a real WWII thing but I haven't been able to find what it is.

I know there were various types being developed, Krupp had a couple i think, one being 10,5cm which this one looks like it might be.

This is the only one i could find.
Typing on the reverse reads,"Eine Kustenbatterie"

Akira, I have often encountered a photo series in more than one location and the photos were most probably made for the officers and higher NCO's in the unit. I also was impressed with the series.

I know - why not reproduce good photos in a good number to distribute! That's how it worked back then (and now... but in digital form!)

1992/ Heavy fire against the Soviet enemy.
Heavy artillery is positioned on the eastern edge of the Soviet city of Kaluga and is effectively placing heavy fire on the retreating enemy.

An old thread - artillery is somehow not as popular as tanks, but they were as decisive.

Artillerie-248 (168.Infanterie-Division) in late summer in Donbogen.
