Need an id on a Battalion commander (see document signatures), a Major of 3/Gren.Ausb.Battalion 18, or 3./IR18. Eastern Front.

I have a group of photos from Gren.Ers.Btl.18 and it shows a Major. Because I wasn't sure if he was the battalion commander, I was looking for his name. Quite incidentally, only recently, thanks to W.Petz I had a chance to see an album which shows the Major - the writing reads "Major Ohle(?)" (photo below). I don't have a clue about him.

I am writing this in the hope that you might be able to add something new to me.

My research, unfortunately is limited really only to the end of 1942, when Major Carl Becker was IR18 commander, I managed to come by a grouping of a decorated obergefreiter who received the CCC in bronze, ek1, ek2, IAB, wound badge and ost medal, I have most of these in my posession and was looking to validate all the signatures, one from becker, one from Gen Horst Grossman and the other one you just answered.

I read "moscow tram stop" which is all about IR18 in the advance and retreat from moscow...an essential book.

Please...post as many pictures as you can on this regiment.
