                        Hi Bill.
Thanks for shareing the great shots. I love the scenes with the stone decorations. Very cool.
I wanted to ask, the large trucks that the dak men are lieing beside. These are british bedford trucks right?
Im not sure but it seems like a high amount of trucks seen being used by the afrika korp was british?
                        I might be wrong ?

                            Hi Ian:

Of the latest batch Bill posted (Thanks Bill!!):

                            #s 41 & 66 are Chevrolet 3 tonners.
                            #s 63 & 64 are Ford 3 tonners.

Both vehicles are Canadian Modified Commercial/Conventional Pattern trucks supplied to the British in the main.

It has been posted here before somewhere, but Rommel's troops were more or less under orders to capture, repair and use as many British, Canadian and American vehicles as they could..

Aside from the German Opel and Ford trucks, the allied trucks were considered more robust, incredibly simpler to maintain and repair and generally more suited for desert warfare than the German vehicles of the day. One issue was they almost all used large, single desert type wheels and tyres that performed better in the sand and mud than the much smaller and thinner German wheels and tyres.

                            Bill
