Hi Karl,

As far as I can see from your clear scans, the envelope seal is original.
The ones with the Germanic Script are early ones, your example is a later version.
Sometimes you see them for sale on the german ebay.
And Winkler has a fighterpilotgroup for sale including an envelope with such a seal on it, can not remember if it was the early or the later version.

To answer your question Soviet, I will have to get it out of my riker mount, but it is about (+/-) 1 inch in diameter.
