Hi guys this is my first posting on the documents forum and was wondering if anyone can help. I have just obtained two documents and my question is
1 What was a Feldwebel (is this a sergeant?)
2 Marineoberstabsapotheker and finally
3Marineoberkommandos (i take this is a commando?) All
help and opinions would be greatly appreciated. All the best

Here's my attempt: Feldwebel is a junior NCO, the second one is roughly a Naval pharmacist of officer rank and you are correct on the third.

There was no equalising US rank but "Feldwebel" should be situated between "Colour sergeant" and "Sergeant major". The Germans had more ranks than allied troops

A feldwebel does indeed equate to a British Sergeant.
A marineoberstabsapotheker would roughly mean a senior naval pharmacist.
Marineoberkommando is naval high command.
