Does anyone recognise the unit which this bus is from? Thanks for looking, Kerry.

Can someone help to ID this #1 mark? Regiment or company of TK division?
                  Thanks in advance

Here is a detail from a photo of a captured Scammell R100, but does anyone know what the unit marking is please? Thanks,
                    Kerry.

                      Printing Platoon (mot).

                        Hello Larry,
Thank you for that. It does seem odd, did printing sections, in this case SS, have their own vehicle recovery, or do you think the lorry was used to tow trailers or caravans? I have another, fuzzy, shot of a jack-knifed Scammell and trailer, although this one is without a crane-jib, so possibly it was more for transport than recovery?
                        Thanks again,
                        Kerry.

                          Hi Kerry, hi Larry,

could it be the marking of a workshop unit? The pic is not so clear, but for me a workshop unit would be fit more than a printing platoon.

                          Regards

                          Bert

                            Hi

I based my answer on information found here. http://niehorster.orbat.com/011_germ...ymbols_39.html

                            Cheers,

                              Hi Larry,

yes, I know. I was comparing both two tactical signs. But I prefer the other one. Sorry, I made a wrong translation. I meant it could be a maintenance platoon (motorized).

                              Regards

                              Bert

Bert/Larry, I too thought of the Maint. Coy which had a sign just like a ship's wheel but then remembered the Kartenstelle Kp in a Divisional HQ which had a similar sign but with a horizontal line bisecting the rectangle. The sign is definitely that of a Druckereibatterie (mot) if Wolfgang Fleischer is to be believed.
