    I will try again Hans

Regarding the BN truck, I am having real problems with my photo editing program Which I cannot seem to fix. I am trying again here.

OK, it is fixed but the hard way, I have to print the photo, then scan it and then re do it all over again. Anyway, I hope you can help.

By the way, I have just gotten Werner Oswald's books Mercedes Benz Personenwagen 1886-1984 and Mercedes Benz Lastwagen und Omnibusse 1886-1986 so I may be able to better identify these marvelous vehicles. As with you and your wife and me and my wife, our hobby is an obsession.

    Mercedes Military truck

Hi Bill the photo is better now, but it is not easy to identify this car, there is a little bit of the styling of the Mercedes-Benz trucks from the years 1928 -1932, I am thinking on the types L1/N1 , the old L2000 , L45 etc but I am not 100 % sure, otherwise it looks as a Büssing , but it is here the same story.
It is possible that this truck is made by a factory as Goosens or FMA, Dürkopp etc.
Maybe a Truck specialist can help here, I am a Mercedes-Benz Buff with a interest in Einheitsdiesel trucks and have no facts that it is a Mercedes-Benz.
Maybe you find something in your new books.

      Thanks, Hans:

I agree with you, now having looked through Oswald's truck book that it looks very much more like a Benz than either a Buessing or a Magirus.
I hope we can keep up the interest on this forum for transport vehicles and I look forward to more of your most interesting photos.
      Cheers

        Mercedes-Benz Truck

Hi Bill , I have look better and I am sure now it is a Mercedes-Benz Truck ,
The photo give us not many details but to think that it is not a Mercedes is a mistake, maybe you must look with a loop and you see the Star on the radiator.

          Hallo Hans:

Yes, we are all in agreement and the chap who sent me the photo enlarged it and you can definitely see the Mercedes star so another mystery is solved.
I do enjoy this detective work. I will try to post a couple more he has of the six wheeled personnel transport trucks dealing with his question. Apparently the photos accompanied an article about the Army taking over an entire fleet of police transport vehicles and in the article it stated "X" number of light personnel vehicles, the one we were trying to identify and "Y" number of heavy personnel vehicles. In the official report, they were all identified as BN trucks which was obviously not correct. Thanks again, Hans
          Cheers
