Pietro,
The one with the four NKSs, GABs & EK1s really caught my eye when I found it. On the other pic that you mentioned it's not a MG42 it's a PPsh41 Russian MP which is kind a rare to see in Italy as you mostly see soldiers with Beretta 38s or 38a's in Italy.

Very rare find the PPsh in Italy... I know only another photo of this gun in Italy... I don't remeber where I saw....a Mussolini's bodyguard had it equipped ... the photo was at the end of 1944 /early 1945.

Pietro,
First time I've seen the PPsh41 in Italy and I'm surprised that there wasn't more as many Soldiers came to Italy from the Russian Front. Large amounts of PPsh41's were captured by German Forces and they were popular with the German soldier on the front lines due to their reliability & large magazine capacity. Could be that the supply of ammunition 7.62x25 wasn't readily available in Italy. Unlike 9mm for the MP40 which could be used in the Beretta 38's. At some point in the war a small amount of PPsh41's were converted to 9mm and were re-designated MP41(r).
