Although not common occurance mixing uniform items that is probably what happened at the Studio for his portrait. I believe 100% that many of the studios had uniform items on hand to take photos of the soldiers as they came in so they can send portraits home to their family, wives and sweethearts.

Thank you for your kind comment about the thread and that would be nice but I'm happy just sharing them with WAF membership.

Great photo! perhaps the man forgot his cap and grabbed one from another waiting to be photographed or it could be a studio owned cap?
