Bill T,
Nothing wrong with the postcard and it is period but the developer/photographer had the negative on the wrong side therefore the photo was reversed when printed. The same thing occurs when I scan a negative on the wrong side the image is reversed.
Thanks for sharing more of your photos.
Can I ask you to please try to post only TR period photos...although interesting those Stahlhelm photos are pre-TR period. I really try to adhere to posting mostly TR portraits with a sprinkling of interesting snapshots.
Thanks again for sharing your photos!

- DRK in Poland
- Kreigsmarine Uboot badge?

Hello, I was looking at your beautiful pictures and noticed
Mar11 - Portrait - 73
The man is wearing a General Assault Badge and a Army Flak Badge. I was under the impression That You could only earn one of These types of badges based on Where you were stationed. Example the Panzer Assault Badge for tankers, Infantry Assault for infantry etc.
Was it rare for a soldat to earn more than one "specialized" badge?
probably a question but im still new to this hobby, (notice my number of posts...)
thanks,
Mike

Mike,
Welcome to this thread. You can be awarded quite a few different badges as the Heer Flak Badge is a different award from the General Assault Badge...for example; the Army Infantry Assault Badge and the Luftwaffe Ground Assault Badge. Although I have posted a photo on this thread of a LW Officer wearing both badges which contradicts regulations.
Remember there are two types of Panzer Assault Badges...Silver for Panzertruppen and Bronze for Panzergrenadiers. So you may see a Infantry Assault Badge being worn in combination with one of these Badges.
