                Hi Paul, really? I thought that was why you posted it. (besides it being a nice pic in general) It is a great photo. I never fail to be amazed about the amount of non regulation insignia worn by German soldiers.

                                Very interesting indeed. Looks to be an SS cut hat (eagle is SS) with a rosette added. Usually the other way around (Heer converted to SS)
