    It is indeed a Danzig Cross 1st class. As far as I can remember Schimmelpfennig was one of the known recipients.

        Hi Terry,

        I checked the list that was posted here in this forum however Schimmelpfennig is not on it (it is not a complete list of recipients). I must have come across Schimmelpfennig in relation to a Danzig Cross award somewhere else but cannot remember it at the moment. I will go through some catalogues and old photos of items. I think it could have been in relation with a Danzig Cross award document which was sold by Detlev Niemann a couple of months ago. If that is so I won't be able to get the picture but I remember a Danzig Cross award document with the name on it.
