Jacob Grimminger, was the bearer of the famous Nazi "blood flag."

        As for Sparks - a crap 'Glam-Rock' group .

          Terry K.:
Your posted Blood flag trooping photo was taken on the Kings Plaza before the 9 Nov 1923 martyr grave temples in Munich. Unfortunately the best part, the special wreath pattern pole top finial, always seems to get cut out of such photos! The guys without hats are the 9 Nov 1923 revolution veterans, and if you look closely you can see their large Old Guard NSDAP pins (right pocket), and the 1923 ribbon (left pocket).

OldFlagsWanted

            Hi oldflagswanted,

I learn something new every day. I never knew that the old fighters went uncovered when at that ceremony, but now that I think of it, I remember seeing other pics including Hitler there uncovered.
            Thanks,
            Terry Keller

              Thanks,
The understanding I have is that Hitler wanted the 9. November vets to march as they had appeared on 9. Nov 1923; ie no overcoats, hats, etc. It apparently was pretty cold on some of those commemorative marches! And I believe the order of the marchers was supposed to semi-replicate the order they had been in when they reached the Feldherrnhalle on 9. Nov 1923, though in later commemorative marches there were squabbles about who was to march at Hitler's side (usually won by Ulrich Graf, one of his old bodyguards).

It shouldn't be that hard to figure out who the RK holder is. This photo should be 1943 at the latest (1943 was the last year for any of the 9. Nov commemorations). Not that many Untersturmführer with RK running around in 1943. I'm having a hard time reading the cuff title. Rule out Leibstandarte or Totenkopf. Could it be "Deutschland" or "Westland?" If "Deutschland," it could be Heinz Macher, but other photos don't seem to show a cleft chin like that... anyone know?

              Regards,
              Greg

I missed Robin's earlier post - maybe the cuff title is "Der Führer," and it could be Ludwig Kepplinger...

I say Kepplinger for sure- that's his face- and probably 1941. Cannot be post-1942 as NSKK-Korpsfuhrer Adolf Huehnlein is visible above the RKT's right shoulder (and he died in '42). Next to him is Max Amann and at far right is eventual SS-Gruf. / Ministerialdirektor in the Reichsministerium des Innern (responsible for veterinary matters), Dr. med. vet. Friedrich Weber (leader of the Bund Oberland during the 9.11.1923 Putsch).

                    Best,
                    ~ Mike

Thanks for the link and good luck on your quest.
Does the vet actually have fragments of the flag or just the pole standard? If he has fragments do you know how much of the flag actually remains?
