    Can someone familiar with the Tessin series please tell me which volume would have info on Kradschuetzen Abt. 25? I'm a little confused. A couple of sources state it was part of the 4th Gebirgs Div.. Another states it was eventually part of the 27th Infanterie Div. Any help appreciated.

    Thank you

    Do you mean Kradschützen-Btl 25 (not Abteilung)? It was part of 25.Infanterie-Division.

      Hello !

      Hucks is correct. The Tessin entry (in Vol. 4) is not different from the Lexikon link provided by Hucks.

      The source of the confusion might come from the fact, that in autumn 1940, 25. and 27. ID underwent some reorganisation
      and both were involved in the formation of 4. Geb.Div. :
      25. Inf.Div. => 25. ID(mot.) [and gave away IR 13 to 4. Geb.Div.]
      27. Inf.Div. => 17. Pz.Div. [and gave away IR 91 to 4. Geb.Div. and III./IR 40 to 25. ID(mot) to form Kradschtz.-Btl. 25].
      (other units were involved as well).

      So the Kradschützen-Btl. 25 has its origin in 27. ID and not the other way round.

      Best regards,

      Archi

          BTW - i found this title "Days of Battle: Armoured Operations North of the river Danube, Hungary 1944-45", by Norbert Szamveber - while i was researching this unit. It's full of good info on this front. I wasn't aware of this title. Five bucks on Kindle. Worth it.
