Help with Feldpost number & Kampfgruppe info.

Hi folks I am new to the forum so I hope that I don't offend anyone here. I am looking for information on my Uncle who was in the Waffen-SS. On the rear of one of his portraits I found a Feldpost number #12321 can anyone help with this please? I am also looking for any information anyone here might have on his last unit. It's name was Kampfgruppe Lentza and they were engaged with Soviet forces around the Posen (Posnan) Poland area in early 1945. Thanks in advance for any help.

    Kampfgruppe Lentza

I found out a little more, in one of his last few letters home my Uncle wrote to his mother that he was in charge of "A together thrown dice." and that he had Luftwaffe and Kriegsmarine and Heer personnel in his unit at that time. Ian, after I have read through these postings you seem to be the man in the know. Any luck with my Uncle's Feldpost number? Thanks in advance.

I have my books so here we are:

Well, FP Nr. 12321 was not a Waffen SS FP Nr.! This belonged to a Landesschützen Btl, an Infanterie Rgt. and finally a Luftwaffen Flak Battr.!!!!

I take it the portrait is in SS uniform?

          Feldpost

Ian, absolutely he was definitely in the Waffen-SS. Two of his brothers were in the Luftwaffe and maybe that is why the Feldpost number was that one. It was written in pencil on the back of one his photos that he sent home. Thanks for the help. Any idea on Kampfegruppe Lentza or the battle in the Posen area?
