    Panzer Pioniere

Were Panzer Pioniere units assigned on the Company, Battalion or Regimental level? What size Pioniere unit would be assigned to a Panzer Battalion/Regiment and what exactly did it consist of?

What was the Table of Organization for the Pioniere units assigned the HG Division armoured units?

Any information would be greatly appreciated. Thank you.

    German WWII KStN

    Hello,

The websites listed below, have a ton of information. However, I don't know what the HG Division used for their TO&E or K.S.t.N.

Germam K.S.t.N. changed over the course of the war, so it you need to look at a specific time period.

For example, a K.S.t.N. dated 01.11.43 for a Panzer Battalion HQ Company would have a Pioneer Section of three Sd.Kfz. 251/7 plus 3 Pioneer Squads and 3 equipment trucks.

To my knowledge all Divisional Pioneer units (Abteilung or battalion) began the war as traditional Pioneer units. Units assigned to Panzer or Panzer-Grenadier Divisions were re-designated as Panzer Pioneers in the 1942 time frame. Please note the examples below.
