That's an impossible question to answer without more information, for example, where the helmet came from.

The correct German writing is "Obschtz (Oberschütze) Döbrich " (Doebrich).

In the Volksbund list there are 17 soldiers named Döbrich KIA or MIA in WW2.

I'm closing this thread but leaving it up as an example of why so many don't want to waste their time helping others.

Firstly, you ask an ill thought out and to be frank, pretty dumb question, rather like asking 'Can anyone tell me more about private Smith, he served in the army in WW2?'.
Fair enough, no crime in that. So, you actually get a reply this time (as opposed to another named lid you posted in 2012, which is, in fact, possible to give you more information about) pointing out that with the available information the question is impossible to answer, but that with more information it may just be possible to give a qualified yes or no as to whether he survived or not. If the helmet had some provenance in the form of where it came from, eg. a vet bring back from Italy, bought it from a source in Norway where it was found after the war etc.

But no, you decide instead on insults based on your own ignorance and thoughtlessness.
