Surrender of the last german forces

This is my first posting on this forum and perhaps this has been covered before.
I guess we've all heard about Schörner's stubborn resistence and Gen. Löhr's late surrender in Kroatia. But can anyone name the last german unit, with the date and location of surrender? I know the answer, just checking up on you guys

I'm not at home at the moment but iirc it was up on Svalbard. One of the weather stations there.

If you hunt around you'll find documents for awards that are dated well after 8 May 1945 for Units based in Norway.

These were awards (and promotions BTW) given after the surrender whilst units were in so called 'reservations'. In Norway the Wehrmacht retained a great deal of autonomy during the summer of '45. The Germans were still responsible for administration, feeding and discipline of their troops, that's why you see these late awards. I know of EKII, EKIs awarded for mine clearance. KVKII m\S and wound badges all being awarded post-may '45.
