KOPP O.31620/41E

Any information on the man and his fate would be gratefully received.

You might need more information about him to stand a chance. There are 21 Kopp's listed here https://historisches-marinearchiv.de...rt1&var2=wert2

and that database is far from complete. You could try the Naval archives in Germany and hope that they have a match for his enlistment details.
