Hoping to find out more about this man

To be honest, considering he is just a run of the mill soldier like millions of others who served (and by that, I mean he didn't win anything that makes him stand out from the rest) the chances are that all the information you will find is what you have within the Wehrpass. You could find movement & battle details for his parent units in books to try and flesh things out a bit but as he eventually served in a butcher unit that particular unit most probably won't be covered anywhere and as he didn't die in battle you could try and find out what squadrons bombed the German town he was in at the time of his mortal wounding but even that might be tricky.
