Dear forum members,
I recently was quite fortunate enough to acquire a long dress bayonet/shooting prize produced by the Carl Eickhorn firm. A nice little feather in the cap for my etched bayonet collection. I was informed by a fellow WAF member that this was the section to ask for assistance to see if there was anyone could help give me any information at all about it.
What it was tied to or if it had any significance with regards to any wartime (where and when) achievements etc.
It's a two line inscription. First line reads "Dem besten Schützen". Second line "Uffz. Korps Stab III. 115." For what it's worth, it has a red felt rifle slot insert for the wehrmacht.
Any and all in formation with regards to this etch would be greatly appreciated. Thanks in advance.
Best wishes,
Mat J
