I'm sure a long shot but maybe someone can help.

I'm trying to see what I can find on the owner of the combat tunic in my collection.

The gentleman was a Hauptmann with the 507th Infantry Regiment. He wrote his name in the tunic and it is either Verialla or Variella.

Can anyone point me in the direction of where I might find a comapany list for this regiment?

    Thanks and regards,

    Greg

      Hi Rick,

Thanks for the response. The name is not written on a label but into the liner that he had applied into his tunic.

Here is a photo as it actually looks and a composite through photoshop showing it in a little better detail.

          Hi Greg,

Well, there's a list of the commanders of the Bataillone of Infanterie-Regiment 507 on the Lexikon der Wehrmacht website (http://www.lexikon-der-wehrmacht.de/...nter/IR507.htm), but Hptm. Variela isn't there, so he must have been a Kompaniechef. The reference is the history of the 292. Infanterie-Division and its Kameradschaft- perhaps that book or the group can help you.

Thanks for the response Matt. I appreciate the link and data. I will keep that reference in my notes incase I am able to come upon a volume of that study.
