Was looking at a very early panzer parade tumic a fewxweels ago and found these markings inside, as well as owners name tag. The shoulderboards once had six on them. Any chance of finding history of owner and or unit?

Hi Steve,
I believe that marking is for 4 Komp/Panzer Abteilung (verlauf) 66. The "verl" abbreviation has numerous meanings, but the most logical is "developmental".
In 1937 40 PzKpfW II, Aus D were built and issued to PzA(verl) 66 and 67. These were meant to support the schnelle or leichte Divisionen concept and were termed "express tanks".
There are plenty of references available on the web regarding PzAbt 66 and a quick search of the German War Graves Commission's site produced no results on Aloysius Bischoff.
I'm not sure where this is for sale, but I'm 99.9% sure I owned this tunic about 5 years ago.
As a side note, I have the visor cap of the commander of PzAbt 66: http://dev.wehrmacht-awards.com/foru...7&highlight=66
Good luck with your decision on whether-or-not to buy it.
Regards!
Bob

Hello !
A small addition, regarding the abbreviation (verl.) :
It stands for "verlastet" (= to put on lorries/trucks).
The Panzer-Abteilungen of the 1.-4. leichte Div. had enough organic transport, so that the whole Abteilung
could be transported on its own trucks. The idea was interesting, but was abandoned in 1940.
Best regards,
Archi
