Does anyone know the story behind this website shutting down? They had a lot of helpful resources for research on the website.

I believe it is because of the new EU-Datenschutzgrundverordnung (DSGVO) that came in effect on 25.05.2018

There seems to be a few that have closed down in the last week or so although whether it's permanent or temporary I couldn't say.

hopefully they gonna be back soon. Would be shame to lose them.

Yes, that is too bad. Apolitical Historical research sites are shut down and far right political ones are still allowed on the web. Mixed up priorities.
