    Who is this ss guy

    Ok the direct family here wish any information on

    Johannes hinrich hermann Gehlken born kohleim 21.06.1925 joined age 17 1942

    His wife still alive

    What other information can I ask for? No service book survives

      Wow, strange. I used to own an almost exactly identical picture. It is at the exact same location but clearly different men (see how the hat is cocked and the gloves). What a crazy coincidence!! I bet these guys were buddies who took pics of each other!!

          What is striking is that Vidus prospekt in Riga looks almost unchanged from the photo taken in 1943. In places the fence posts are the same!

                So was it possible this guy involved in the Greece massacre? The family state when asked about Greece his answer was “we don’t talk about Greece “

                  wow what a luck with the second soldier!

                  btw if that family does not want to speak about it, it does not necessary mean he must have been involved in anything bad.

                  However, as a SS member in late Greece it is more than possible
