There were 2 Generals named Schilling - Otto and Walter, both Generalleutnant, but I can't find either of them having served in the Balkans. You'll find brief bios here:-

Its Otto; I say Balkans because he was awarded a high Croatian Order, the neck Cross of Vlodymr ( I know I am messing it up).
