Help with 18th SS Polizei Regiment Name

Hey everybody, I was curious if there was any information available for a Oberwachtmeister in the 18th SS-Polizei-Gebirgsjäger-Regiment. I got a uniform pictured below with the name Nann stitched into the collar. I don’t know if there were records that are accessible or if any survived the war. Any help would be graciously appreciated. Thanks!

        NJ,

I'd possibly be able to help you if he was in the SS, but what I'm seeing is just a Schutzpolizei tunic as opposed to a Waffen-SS tunic.

Can you clarify this for me please?

Thanks and have a great 2019!

        Regards!

        Bob

          Hi Bob,

The man was indeed Schutzpolizei but in an “SS” Police Regiment. In 1943 the police regiments became honorary SS units. This regiment saw a lot of combat in Yugoslavia, Greece, Finland, and Balkans.

Thanks and have a great 2019 as well!

I'll see if I can find anything on him for you the next time I go to the National Archives.

            Regards!
