    Konteradmiral Georg Waue

    Hello all,

I search for any information and/or photos of Kriegsmarine rear Admiral George Waue. Some accounts of his death can be read about here:

    http://wehrmacht-awards.com/forums/s...2&postcount=42

and he may have been a holder of the Croatian Order of King Zvonimir:

    https://forum.axishistory.com/viewto...t=Waue#p255663

his service records can be found here:

    http://www.oocities.org/~orion47/WEH...AUE_GEORG.html

he was also a member of the Navy Brigade of Loewenfeld:

any help would be greatly appreciated. I have a Coastal Artillery uniform of his in my collection (decorations were added for display)

    Hallo William

I think you will hardly have more news.

You are American (and so you can not completely understand me) but here the omissions of the Commies are still very strong because of the heavy current interconnections between history and politics ... good luck

According to the service record in the link you provided, he was promoted to Konteradmiral on March 1, 1945, so for this to be his uniform it must predate his promotion. I guess that could explain why there are no bullet holes in it...

But what kind of ribbon bar would be consistent with his career and fit all those loops above the breast pocket?

      Best regards,
      ---Norm

I thought it may be for a custom made parade medal bar, which looks to be about 7 places and utilized several vertical loops rather than one long horizontal bar.

Not necessarily. For instance, the 102 POWs killed in the island of Jakljan, partly Kriegsmarine personnel captured in Istria (Pula Festung was in istria), were shot with a bullet in the back of the head. Furthermore, victims were often stripped to underwear to impede ID and to recover soughtly after serviceable garments (not the case of a fully badged Nazi tunic, of course).
