17 ID - 55 IR in Greece

I m having troubles finding infos about this regiment being in Greece. (With italians)

Any help would be nice.

Are you sure that Inf.Rgt. 55 was in Greece ?

All my sources say, that it was in France until May 1940
and then sent to Poland for the build up of Barbarossa.

I see your point now. But I checked several books besides Tessin, and there is no indication,
that Inf.Rgt. 55 departed from 17. ID and was sent to Greece.
The easiest explanation would be, that the soldier, who took those photos, had been transferred
to some other unit at some point prior to Greece.

From a quick first glance, I saw only one photo that mentions 8./IR 55 and that might
have been his training unit. Perhaps some other members can help you, by judging
from the uniforms or vehicles, whether other units come into question for the Greece connection.
