    You can go to NARS and search for his RuS file, it contains photos for marriage application. A microfilm printer copy can be made, then the photo enhanced with Adobe or similar program.

        I am trying to find a photo of a Luftwaffe Hauptmann, who was Staffelfuehrer of 8./KG 2 in March 1942. Did you have any luck in seeking photos? Would any of the sources you tried be any good for my man?

        Would you mind explaining what 'NARS' is and how to access it? Or is this for SS only? My man was married, so perhaps there is a lead here?

        Any guidance welcome.

              I think the docs you refer to were returned in the 1990s.
              The Hoover Institute also has a large number of files-NASDAP especially.
              Try the Haig (the SS vets association). They have a website on AOL. They once had an extensive private photo collection.
              Lastly, if your chap was a war criminal-theres a good chance the Simon Wiesnthal Centre or Holocaust Centre has a file on him.
              Just as an aside, i know somebody out there has done a compilation of SS Officers records on CD-Rom. I lost the link and don't know about its accuracy-but as I remeber it used file # references.
