    Oberstleutnant Roters

    Hello,
In my possession there is a gas mask set once belonged to the person named Roters, in rank of Oberstleutnant - lieutenant colonel. Here link to pictures: http://dev.wehrmacht-awards.com/foru...=903743&page=2
Mask is also marked with number 38. I wish I could learn something about that high rank officer. Could You help? Thanks in advance.

You find him commanding the Radfahr Abteilung 18 from spring 1941 - March 1942

That was quick! Thank You very much! I think I also found one record concerning this person. He was Major back then. http://www.feldgrau.net/forum/search...526&sf=msgonly

That is nothing special. Just his gasmask number.
It was common to write numbers on gasmasks to quickly identify your own gasmask cannister.
I'm collecting anything related to the towns Castricum and Bakkum during WWII.
Also soldbucher from 116pzdiv. And 1944-1945 eastfront pockets, kampfgruppe and Oder front.
