Info search about Oberst Freiherr von Lerchenfeld

    Dear collectors,

has anyone informations where I can find detailed Informations about
Oberst Freiherr von Lerchenfeld. He was with the Kav.Reg 17 Bamberg.
With the 3rd Schwadron that was when I am not wrong stationed in Ansbach.

Decorated with German Cross in Gold with Reg17 later with Pz.Aufkl.Abtl.27 ?

Was his sister getting married with Stauffenberg?

    thank you for any help,
    Robert

It was Nina von Lerchenfeld who was married with Stauffenberg:

Was it then the sister from Rudolph Frhr. von Lerchenfeld?

I found he was Kommandeur of Aufkl.Abtl. 27 in 1940.

If he was not killed during the War his complete service files maybe in the US archives. In the US there are no restrictions on access to these documents and you can hire a private researcher to copy them for you-

Thank you for all your help.
I wonder what happened to him after 20.July.1944.
Assume he was close to C.v.Stauffenberg.

He was not prosecuted. This book has a couple of photos him and has a lot of information of the the plot and Stauffenberg etc. You may find it interesting. His Father was a higher ranking Ulan officer in the Bavarian Army in WWI and he and his brother were junior officers.
