        Divisions-nachrichten-Abteilung 99 was created on 10 Dec. 1940 and placed under 99. leichte Infanterie-Division.
This Division took part in the invasion of Russia in June 1941, it was in the Southern part of the eastfront under 6. Armee.

In Okt. 1941 the unit was pulled away from the front and send to Germany to be reformed into the 7. Gebirgs-Division.

The Division was moved back to the easternfront around Feb. 1942 and fought in Lappland under the 20.Gebirgsarmee (Northern part of the eastfront). It fought at Koslowa, Kudrowa, Redzy-road and Gridino-road. The Division moved into Finland and continued fighting in the Uhtua area, Kiestinki, Njatowara and Kangaswara. In Aug. 1942 the Division moved into the Kiestinki frontline. The Division participated in attacks in the Senossero area. This later changed into the defense, which lasted till 1945. After which the Division fell back via Ranna, Rovaniemi, Vilmaa, Teipülö, Kemi, Tornio to Narvik.

At the end of the war the Division surrendered to the British forces at Lillehammer in Norway.
I'm collecting anything related to the towns Castricum and Bakkum during WWII.
Also soldbucher from 116pzdiv. And 1944-1945 eastfront pockets, kampfgruppe and Oder front.

Slight correction, the Senossero battles were in the summer of '44. The division, along with the rest of the 20 Geb.Armee, minus XIX Geb.Korps initially started to pull out of Karelia and Finland in Sept.44 when the Finns changed sides. After some heavy fighting around Tornio and Rovaniemi in Oct.44 the division settled into a prepared defensive line called the Sturmbock Stellung in nov.44 in North West Finland until Jan.45. It's purpose was to act as a buffer whilst the Lyngen Stellung on the Finnish\Swedish\Norwegian border could be built up sufficiently.
After this the division started a very slow transfer to Southern Norway but by the end of the war the division was spread out over 1000 miles along the length of Norway.

However, 1./Geb.Nach.Abt.99 was in fact earmarked to be given to the newly forming 9 Geb.Div. just North of Narvik and was to change numbers to 140. This happened so late in the war though that you'd have to have a soldiers WP or SB to see if that is the case.

No it's not from the internet, the wehrmacht in Norway and Finland is my 'territory' and i've done a lot of archive research over the years.

But i'm curious to know what your interest is? Do have something to a member of the unit?

hmm. No doctors at the company level, they were batallion level upwards, though it doesn't mean he was a medical doctor.

I have officer lists from may1945 and can only tell you he didnet belong to Geb.Na.abt.140 or 99 then (or other units from 7 Geb.Div. from what i can see, though as the division was spread over the whole country my list is far from complete)
