All,
My sister-in-law's great uncle was killed on 28 May 1942. Warren Allen, of Lunenburg, Nova Scotia, an Able-Bodied Seaman in the Canadian Merchant Navy, went down on the SS WESTERN HEAD, on May 28, 1942 as the result of a UBoat torpedo, in the Caribbean Sea. 24 men were lost. He is listed in the Halifax Memorial.
I am trying to figure out which U-Boat was the shooter. I am figuring either the U-73 or U-561 as they were the only boats in the Med at the time. Any thoughts on ow to narrow it down? Am I on the right track?
Thanks,
Marc
