    Kriegsmarine and Russian front medal

I have noticed that there were a number of kriegsmarine personel who were awarded the Krim and/or Kuban shields. Many of which were E-boat personel. Does anyone know if either of these campaigns also the earning of the russian front medal for kriegsmarine people?

Huss has a nice set of awards to a kriegsmarine coastal artillery fellow who was awarded the russian front medal.

Without double checking, i think so. I think KM personnel up on the coast in Finland\Russia on the murmansk front might also have been elligible.
Collecting German award documents, other paperwork and photos relating to Norway and Finland.

Yes, some navy types were awarded the medal-so long as they met the criteria.
Also, they seem to have got some Rumanian Crusade medals during the Crimean campaign.

        Simon, Jeff,

Thank you both. I am putting together anouther grouping of medals around an S-boat theme and wanted to be historically correct. I was using two books about those in the kriegsmarine who were awarded the Knights Cross. I found several personel who were awarded S-boat badges with Krim, Kuban shields, and the Rumanian Crusade medal. I was using another source which showed a coastal artillery fellow who was awarded the Krim and Russian front medal. I just could not find evidence to support S-boat with the Russian Front medal.

        Thanks again,
        Terrence
