    Jessee,

just stumbled across this old thread. I can't help you with a photo, but I happen to own an oil painting of him.

    Here are some pics.

It was painted by Hans Holtorf in 1946: http://de.wikipedia.org/wiki/Hans_Holtorf

    Hope that helps... Kurt

        Harmel,

nope the General in the background is Hermann Janowski. I'll start a separate thread on him. Here is the link to that thread: http://dev.wehrmacht-awards.com/foru...d.php?t=529208

Here is what I found on Reichel: Eckart Reichel was born in 1913 and died in 1962. He was later a Brigadegeneral in the Bundeswehr (http://de.wikipedia.org/wiki/Liste_d...der_Bundeswehr) with some publications even and there is tons of research work possible on him. He received the Army Honor Roll Clasp (05.05.1944, Major, I./Füs.Rgt. 26) and was later commander of the Grenadier-Regiment 234: http://www.lexikon-der-wehrmacht.de/...er/GR234-R.htm

I'm pretty sure this is him (look at the numbers on his shoulder boards).

        Kurt

Thanks for that Kurt. That's a fascinating prospect on the painting being Reichel. He was indeed with OKH prior to being CO of the 234th, and I assume he must have been captured at Kurland. What led you to believe that the portrait is of Reichel?
