Researching the name in an officer's visor?

I research USA items but have never attempted German research.
Is it possible to research the man named in this early Heer Administration officer's hat?
    Carl A. Engelbrecht
I'm also curious the meaning of the abbreviation after his name DIPL. ING.

    Hi,

Dipl. Ing. = Diplom-Ingenieur= means Graduate Engineer.
Research für Carl A. Engelbrecht is nearly impossible in my opinion,
because there are no sources in Germany for research like in the USA.

    Greetings

Thanks, that info on the abbrev. is great.

Your best hope is to find someone who has access to a copy of a Rangliste of the Wehrmachtbeamte (Heer) that might (or might not) shed some light on him.

Such a Rangliste does exist but there is no index. If you're looking for a particular individual, you need to look through every page, and there are hundreds of them.
