Help with Heer Honor Roll recipient information.

Gentlemen,
I recently acquired this grouping and am seeking information about the winner and his unit. I have the "ERENBLATT DES DEUTSCHEN HEERES" dated 15.August 1944 which lists Hauptmann Heinrich Vycichl + as Kommandeur der Regiments-Gruppe 482. His award document lists same name and rank awarded for action at "Lepel" on 28.6.1944. Award document is dated 15.August 1944.
Any and all help will be much appreciated. Thank you.

Rgt-Gruppe 482 was part of Div. Gruppe 262.
This kind of name for both Regiment and Division was used from 1943 onwards to call "weakened" units.

Thus, Rgt.-Gruppe 482 was previously the Gre.Rgt. 482 which was turned into Regimentsgruppe on November 1943.

Regarding the 262. ID, here is what I found in my books this week end (translated from French so forgive by advance possible strange grammar) :

The 262. ID is a fourth wave division created on August 26, 1939 and whose mebers are Austrian reservists.
It is located on the Saar front in 1939-1940. In June 1940, it belongs to the 1. Armee and attacks on the Bitche (North Eastern France) area.
In June 1941, it belongs to the AK Nord. In September of the same year, the division is transferred to the Army Group Center. Within this Army Group, the 262. ID participates to the Moscow battle and its retreat.
During the year 1942, the division is not really engaged in the defensive battles led by Army Group Center.
In 1943, the 262. ID is transferred to the Koursk area where it experiences heavy losses.
After that battle, the division is withdrawn from the front since only few members remain. They are incorporated in the Div. Gruppe 262. This latter one unit , along with elments of the 56. ID are part of the Korps Abteilung D.
Staffs and supply units as well as other elements are transferred to France where they are used to create the 277. ID.
This latter division wil be engaged in Normandy where it will courageously fight. Most members of the 277. ID will be lost in the Falaise area.

I have tried to find a Vychil in the Volksbund site in order to know whether this soldier was KIA or not but no such name appear in their list. I will look this evening in another source to see if I can have more details about his Ehrenblatt spange. Vychil has seemingly not been awarded the DKiG since he is not listed in the Patzwall book. I wil have a look in Scheibert to confirm this point.

Thank you again for your kind help with my request. Your help is much appreciated. Hauptmann Vycichl shows to be deceased, with a cross following his name, in the Ehrenblatt report dated 15.August 1944. So, this was a posthumous award. Thanks again, Denis.
