Need info on U-boat Maschinenmaaten Hans Klenner

    Hi folks,
I would like some help on the following U-boat man. His name is Hans Klenner and he was a Maschinenmaaten. I know that he was awarded the U-boat badge on December 1, 1940, and the 1939 EK 2nd class on February 15, 1941. I would like to know what U-boat or U-boats he served on, and if he died or is still alive.
    Many thanks,
    Jody

Sounds like the right guy....his U-Boat badge was awarded 2 days after the return of U-93 from its 3rd patrol and his EK II immediately following his 4th patrol.

I think this could be a typo as Klennen is not a German name and it not listed in the telephone directory....however there are plenty of Klenner's! No Hans-Helmet unfortunately!

Helmet is not correct either!?!?!?!?!?!!? That is what you wear on your head!

          Hans-Helmut Klenner!

              Hans Klenner

              Hello Simon and Ian,
I want to thank the both of you very much. I really appreciate this. I own the man's documents and want to get them frammed and I wanted to know what boat he was on. The mis-spelled name on the web-site is the reason I was not getting any information on him.

Do you think he is still alive?
              Thank you,
              Jody

As mentioned above he is not listed in the phone book, however try contacting the WASt. For members of the Kriegsmarine there are often many documents still around so you can get a full career of his service.....might not be the case here but you can at least try...

                Link for WASt: http://www.com-de.pair.com/wast/suchstart.html

Also try writing to Horst Bredow, with what little you know about Klenner; A minimum research fee is £20.

                    Hello Hubertus,
Hi and nice to meet you. No need to be sorry, you are just glad I was not typing it. I am happy to hear it was a typo.

You have a super web-site. I have a question, will the spelling error be corrected?
                    Regards,
                    Jody
