    Info on Panzer Grenadier Regiment 2

    Hi,

    I reenact 5 kompanie of Panzer Grenadier Regiment 2 of the 2 Panzer Division.I do have basic info on this unit from German sources but failed to find anything more.What I am looking for was there a unit specific flag or unit shield.Any help would be deeply appreciated.

    Hello AW:
    The wartime PGR2 would have inherited the model-1935
    pre-war presented battalion swallowtail standarte of
    the 1st battalion rifle regiment number two (I./Sch.Rgt2.)
    New unit flags were not made or presented during the
    war, that was ordered to wait until after the final victory.
    Until then, as units changed names they still used their
    original 1930's presented unit flag.

    "The Infantry Regiment Meiningen was on October 1, 1934
    in Meiningen, in the Military District IX, situated. The first battalion

      As far as i'm aware the regiment would have used the same insignia on their vehicles as the division.

      By the way, there is a divisional history in German though i don't think it's been translated.
      Collecting German award documents, other paperwork and photos relating to Norway and Finland.
