Where was the 16th SS on D-Day?

Watching Band of Brothers on DVD this evening, and noticed a new detail during the flashback sequence when the shooting of the German POW's is remembered. The POWs turn from regular Heer to SS in the flashback, but I only just caught that one of them was wearing a "Reichsfuhrer-SS" cufftitle. If I recall, the 16th SS were in Italy, but I could be totally off base. It would make sense for them to be, since the whole point was the flawed recognition. Still, it piqued my curiosity.

Yep, you're right. The RFSS was in Italy at the time.
