    Help with interpretation

Good afternoon guys. I had a helmet come in with Feldpost number 30633. This appears to be attributed to a Gruppe Jagdgeschwader 3 then 7 toward the end of the war. But the helmet is a Heer helmet. I am perplexed on this one.

    (28.2.1941-29.7.1941) II. Gruppe Jagdgeschwader 3,
(1.3.1942-7.9.1942) II. Gruppe Jagdgeschwader 3 (Udet),
    (25.11.1944-Kriegsende) 2.1.1945 I. Gruppe Jagdgeschwader 7.

I'd appreciate any insight on this.

    Thanks! Dave

The rank could be Ob. M. - "Ober Maat" and the number related to the German Navy.

"N "could be related with "Nordsee" ?

So I do not see any relation to the GAF

It's a KM lid and that is not a feldpost number but the sailors serial number.

I thought I had a very toned Heer decal but perhaps it is indeed KM.
        I appreciate the great information!

The N does indeed refer to North Sea (the Navy was divided in to 2 'stations' the other being the Baltic)

the 39 refers to his year of entry in to service, so given his rank i think you're looking at a lid, that he at least got within the last couple of years of the war.

The MT is to do with his career path\job but this one i haven't come across so am not sure what it is.
