Yes, it´s the photo is from the cigarette album "ADOLF HITLER".

I found no original source. Only postwar literature, and there is the reason of death cerebrospinal meningitis.

Thank you again, Williwo. There is two different version in the postwar sources: sometimes they talk about a traffic crash and sometimes about meningitis. But it would be important for me to know surely the authentic reason.

Unfortunately Rudolf Hess didn´t tell anything about this in his funeral speech.

I've read that it was meningitis in a number of references, although I'll have to check to see if I can find it in a period reference.

I'm still looking as well. I have examined the 28. Mai 1936 issue of Das Schware Korps which details the Schreck funeral and can find no mention as to cause of death. I will look at all May and June issue to see if anything else might be mentioned.

Not certain, but I believe the cause of death (cerebrospinal meningitis) appears in his SS-Personalakte, which can be obtained on microfilm from the National Archives II in College Park, MD (one of 909 rolls which provide SS personnel files of 61,000+ officers, so there will also be many other officers' records on the roll in question; cost is around $34.95). My coauthor, Andreas Schulz, relies heavily on original SS officer records at the former BDC in Berlin, and I believe that's where he obtained the cause of death.

                      Best wishes,
                      ~ Mike Miller

Thank you very much Michael, Erich and Ramon.

I´ll take as cause of death the disease (cerebrospinal meningitis). But I was wondering about the origin of the other version, because a lot of postwar literature say "traffic accident".
Anyway Julius Schreck was allways a misterious person.
If you find anything else in a period reference please let me know.
Best regards from Spain, and thank you once again.
