While searching the KIA lists for the Republica Sociale Italiana, I came up with a few US (33 total) and Brazilian (29 in all) citizens who were killed while serving in the post 1943 fascist armed forces.
Found one American who was killed while serving in the Italian Waffen-SS:
Francesco Mattedi, Legionario in the W.SS It. 81^ Rgt.
Born in June 7, 1911. KIA in Nettunia, April 30 1944.

Since immigration from Europe to the Americas was massive since the mid 19th century, it is a fact many sons of immigrants made the trip back to Europe. This is how some of them ended up in the Axis armed forces. In some cases, even brothers were fighting eachoter in the opposing armies.
Note that the KIA lists only contain indication of place of birth for about half of the men killed. Owing to the fact that the place of birth is uknown for a large part, the total amount is possibly twice as much. <!-- THE POST -->
