    Hauptmann Flugzeugführer Hermann Winkler

    Hey guys -

I was looking for information on the items belonging to Hauptmann Flugzeugführer Hermann Winkler from KG 27 Boelcke. Just like Bill Bourque did back in 2007, I found the thread "http://www.feldgrau.net/forum/viewtopic.php?f=40&t=21166&start=60" with all the lovely info relating to Winkler's career and the items Tenoriodj and Bill had at the time.

There are at least two groupings: one from during the war and one post-war floating around out there somewhere.

Does anyone know how I could get in touch with Tenoriodj, Bill Bourque or Winkler´s son?

Any information would be greatly appreciated.

Any chance that I've posted this in the incorrect place?

      ..

More than likely no one has any information.

I would also try 12 O'Clock High forum. See below

They might be able to assist.

I have some of his items. I think some are in a museum in France....will have an email somewhere about it.

        Why are you interested?

I have his promotion doc to Hauptmann. I bought it a few years back just as a random LW item without knowing anything else about him. When I saw that there were other groupings out there of his awards from during and after the war, I wanted to see if I could get everything back together.

I don't know why, but it really bothers me when these historical records of a soldier's career get split up. Whenever I see a goblet over here and docs over there, I always want to get them back together where they belong.

It bothers me when items are split up, but then it depends what I have and what is out there. I am not a medal collector, they are not named so can not prove they are part of the group...unless an Ehrenpokal of course.

I knew I would never get all of his group as I bought the items from Bill and Tenoriodj sold or gave his items to the Museum in France pre June 2009...I think the museum was where KG27 was once stationed.

His uniform was out there as well so there were at least four separate groups!

Some dealers have no intention of keeping the group together so sell it off as they see fit. However some of course will try and sell it as a whole, but if it goes unsold and there is a lot of money in it, it will be split for a sale! Unfortunate but that's how it goes.

Incidentally I do have copies of his Personalakte.
