Repository for Officer's service files who were killed in the War

Does anyone know if WASt has the complete service records for officers killed in the war? They are purged from the active officer files of living and MIA officers.

I also am wondering were service files for retired and d.R. officers ended up.

The competent Wehrbezirkskommando - Recruiting District HQ - should archive these files.

All documents and files related to the German Wehrmacht which survived today are stored in the

Bundesarchiv/Militärarchiv in Freiburg/Br. or in the Deutsche Dienststelle /

Wehrmachtauskunftsstelle (WASt) in Berlin.
