Hello
I have seen several pics of asiatic faced Ostbattalion whole group soldiers caught POW in the western part of Normandy (Cotentin peninsula, from Cherbourg to Carentan)
They have been caught in June, July and are held by US troops (many by paratroopers)
As the US unsuspected facing asisatic looking mens they took many pics where they can see in the next hours of their capture on the field, in Utah beach Pow cage and on ships on the way to Britain and watched by US sailors
As far as I have for informations, I can see no Turkmens troops in this area but only plain Russian, Georgian and Ukrainian
The nearest Turkmen are pretty far away, 120km far east. In addition to it hey are part of an other division already engaged in severe struggle with the British
I have browse writing but find not such Asiatic (Turkmen) looking unit on any book in this US area
Any forgotten Turkmens units there ?
Thanks
