Armament among Ostbattalion troops in France in 1944

    Hello

My question concerns armament among Ostbattalion troops in France in 1944

Does anyone knows which kind of Rifles and Smg were issued to those troops ?

Seems like they had Russians Maxims on the Atlantik wall positions, but what about light weapons ?

    Old g98 ? 98k ? Mosin Nagant ? others ... ?

    Thanks

I studied Reserve Division 148 (Nice area), and the German soldiers are frequently seen wearing only one ammunition pouch; so it wasnt something reserved to Russians.
Res.Div.148 included one Ost Battalion, and in the area where they operated, I recovered one spent Russian pistol round, and a local showed me a relicPPSh submachine gun found in the area as well.

Rear/reserve units often only used on ammo pouch it was common. The Ost units were issued whatever was available.
